Man oh man. I just noticed this photography section hidden amongst all the other forums. Thought I would share my other passion....photography.

Here are a few of my photographs. Focusing on Red Squirrels.

Those are some fantastic shots.  I don't mind squirrels, as long as they stay away from my bird feeders.

Oh, they are just great Chako.. thanks for showing them to us.

I'm a big squirrel fan and would quite like to dress up like one and wonder around freaking people out. I've only seen Red ones a couple of times up in the Lake District here and I was very overexcited by it  :D

Fantastic pics mate :tu:

Unfortunately they aren't the same breed as our red squirrels: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Squirrel

Here is the North American red:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Red_Squirrel

However that doesn't mean that the pics are any less impressive.  Great shots Chako.  :salute:

There is probably 4 or 5 individuals taken over I think 3 different occasions.

My distance varied from a few feet to probably 50 to 60 feet.

A few chipmunks.

That's more like it. Chips are way cuter, and far less troublesome than those damn squirrels (which have been known to kill chipmunks, BTW).

Yeah but the Chipmunks were provoking them.

Squirrels here are bold as hell. I was sitting on Mont Royal a while ago eating an apple, and a squirrel just sat there looking at me. So I held the apple core out, the little bugger climbed up my pants leg onto my lap, grabbed the core and ran away. It's not rare to see them eating out of people's hand either.

I don't mind them, they don't damage anything around here. The groundhogs however, are my sworn mortal enemy and I will kill those smurfs one day.

I think the last time I saw a native British red was when I was six years old :(

Speak of the devil... Frigging thing just ate all my lettuce in the garden. I was 5 seconds too late with my air rifle and it ran away. Going to buy a trap later this week...

My wifes family is from Dundee, one of the few (only?) City's that still has a red squirrel population.  They are mainly based in the lovely Camperdown Park, still not easy to spot but they are there.
