Sentimental Multitool Picture Thread
on: June 13, 2009, 01:35:49 AM
Anyone here have a multi that you have been through hell with, or one that has simply performed amazingly without complaint or signs of weakness?

My favorite tool isn't my first (I lost that PST), it isn't even very old (date code 0807), and it's so scratched it almost looks like a brushed finish.  It has however been a great tool that was used often, abused occasionally but was always solid and useful.

Check her out :) She isn't much to look at but she'll be in my will some day.

Let's see yours.

Mine has to be my Supertool.  It was my constant companion for about 6 years of work.  It did all that was asked of it and saved me a lot of shoe leather going back to my workshop for a full tool kit.

Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Though not that interesting or surprising; I have found absolute perfection in the Victorinox Spirit + Bob's sweet pocket clip mod. I really cannot imagine carrying another multi-tool ever again.

Did you mod that yourself or did bob do it?  I really want to mod my Spirit.  I'd carry it more if I didn't need a sheath.  Info!  I need info! :ahhh

I read it, but tbh I wasn't sure if it was something that only Bob could do or if someone else was able to duplicate it.

Spoonrobot is right. A Spirit with a pocket clip is just about perfection. Here's mine. Mine is extra special to me because it's engraved with the dates of my son's birth, my wife's birthday and our anniversary. It also helps me remember so I don't get in trouble.

Glad those clipped Spirits are working out for you guys. :salute:   I wonder if Vic will ever wise up and offer them as a factory option? ???

My most sentimental multi-tool would have to be a pair of cheap American Campers that were bought some time back in the early 90s. The reason they are so valued to me, my late father and I bought them for when we went out to the 3D archery range. We used these tools for ages and just looking at them brings back a lot of good memories. I re-found them after about 12 years of deep garage storage in their quivers. They hold a special place in my collection.

I see they still sell these today. I wonder if they still have the Pat. Pending on the side of one handle?

Awww man, I wish I had my first Wave.  I had been a multi-tool collector for years before I got that Original Wave, but when I got that I remember thinking just how far Multi's had come, it was at that time that I truly got the multi collecting bug.

Well, i would post a photo of my Leatherman KF4 if i still had it.
It was love on first sight and it went on only to grow stronger every day.
Sure, i had som complaints about it but it was the very first tool i really carried and used EVERY day.
Since it head no pocketclip i used to carry it in the coin pocet of my jeans along with a fenix L0D.
As not all coin pockets are equally made the day came when i carried it in a qutie wide pocket and lost it during a party. I also dropped my L0D but found it again and it still serves its duty.

I got a charge as a replacement which works well to but is just a little to bluky and i dont use all the tools it has. Im a little nostalgic now as i own a Skeletool which is about the same size as the KF4 because i ripped of the biner.
T - `cause i like tea :)
