UPS man left a little while ago...I know we've all seen a PPP but here are some pictures of it anyways.  :mail:

<- even came with a little toy car and a fridge magnet. I'd say overall it was a good freebie for only spending $10.
(My package came preopened like that...)

For some reason i thought the regular PPP had more components.

Thanks again jzmtl  :salute:

They ship UPS.   It wouldn't be in the mail.
I haven't got mine yet either.

Didn't you guys get a tracking number too? I think I have mine because I got the order in on time on Thursday so it went out on Friday.

I got the vest but no tool, but the packing slip said the free gift was being shipped from another location.

Tool arrived today.   Nice!
Says "Stanley USA" but it is obviously a SOG.

My wife played with it and now she wants one.
Is the offer over?

BTW, the reflective vest is also excellent.
Very well made and very reflective.

ALP, shame that promo is over, i didnt' see any other stores selling it that had it in stock (prices listed were much lower than $50 for sure though, just no stock). but i'll keep my eyes out.

However, the harley davidson version of the PPP which is the same thing I found for $35, and the harley version of the powerplier ( not the PPP ) for $44. I'll dig out the link from my history if you want it. (not sure of the shipping here though.), at those prices you might just want to snag the real deal off of ebay..

Also on the topic of clones..I came across this stanley version of the switchplier, (no locking tools, materials don't look as nice, not sure if sog made this one like the PPP rebrand)

for the curious http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=2580226
Anyone ever held one of these for comparison?

The stanley version is much smaller than the Sog Switchplier. About 1/2 scale.  Not made by sog.

I have the Stanley version of the Switchplier , it is made in China but has the same patent number as the SOG Switchplier. WH867 & I both like the little Stanley's. Bob's one self imploded whilst gripping air. :o I have a beautiful SOG Switchplier waiting for me when I lose another 4kg.I hope to do a video comparison of the 2 Switchpliers when I do.

Regarding fitting in a 1/4 driver, they take up two spaces so you would have to throw something else out. I'd be putting a saw in too ;)

Great find BTW  :tu:

I think it will go quite nice. Take out the plastic washer and voila! You have room for a ¼ drive.

i've thought about it and the only way i can see that the 1/4 drive would fit and still keep all the other tools would be to insert them in this order

[1st handle] knife, 1/4 drive, awl
[2nd handle] file, can opener, flathead, philips, because of the width of the philips at the top, only the very short implements will fit next to it..

but will the plier head close (interfere with 1/4 drive) ? it seems very close, when i get a second i will try taking the drive off of my powerlock and test this out.

also it will probalbly be a little more work to get the can opener out as the nail nick will be covered. [mine all clump anyhow, so not a deal breaker]

it's a shame the 1/4 drive is on the handle with the scissors..i'm not very good at getting those back on, PITA!

i will let you know how i fare.

Well i got my Stanley last week and it's an almost exact match of my SOG PPP. The file on the Stanley is craptacular. I might try to remedy that PDQ with some bits and pieces.

Not bad for free.

That file on your Stanley is genuine SOG issue. It is just a different vintage than the one on your PPP. And neither one is the same file they offer on current PPP's. :-\
