That's a nice looking Ettrick Pruner there Mark. I reckon you've just fallen lucky rather than one of the old boys changing their ways  ;) The knives all work well, but fit and finish can be a little hit and miss - you got a good one there mate :)

Congratulations to Dan & Michelle  :tu:

Please pass on best wishes to Dan and Michelle

I'm also pleased to see you got a good TA.  I do hope its a sign of a trend rather than a one off.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Personally, I think Trevor Ablett is tryin' to score off the fact that he worked in Sheffield and cynical me suspects he's tryin' to make a name for himself before Stan Shaw retires.
As I'm sure you all know Stan is "The MAN" both Master Cultler and last remaining little mester - his book makes for fascinating reading!
The last time I spoke with Stan (about a year ago) - I did mention Trevor's knives.
Stan put me straight with the fact that he (Trevor) simply stamps out all the tools including the blades, very little is actually hand made, hand forged, hand hardened....well I think you get the picture. And as a result the quality speaks for itself...
 R U B B I S H

I had a play with a few of his knives at the Sheffield Shop a few years ago.
In a word......DIRE!
But then again, almost all the knives they stocked were, if I'm honest - pretty poor in terms of precision and quality. Nothing like the quality of either Victorinox and Wenger.
But hey, that's my own personal view, each to their own.
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

All of the above best wishes have been passed on.

As I have said in the case of my knife the make up is great, although I am having trouble getting it to take an edge. I think the metal is rolled on one side. I will take a diamond file to it later to see if that will fix it.  Failing that all suggestions gratefully received.
