Thanks for the heads-up on the batteries. I was looking into getting some Eneloops, but it's probably easier and cheaper to get the Rayovac Hybrids (which I didn't know about) that I can charge in my existing charger.
Contrary to popular belief, and information provided by Sanyo, Sanyo Eneloop batteries can be charged effectively with no side effects in any brand of NiMH charger. I would still opt to buy the Rayovac hybrids though, because they are less expensive, more available in stores, and any performance difference between them and the Sanyos is negligible.
