Another cheap MT...the Fuller.

Fuller has been around for some time making tools. Today, would like to introduce you to one of my cheapest multi-tools in the collection. You guessed it, the Fuller.

I guess I should state that no matter how bad this tool may sound, it is an amazing deal. I paid only 8 Canadian for it…and it wasn’t on sale. Chances are, this is possibly the cheapest valued MT out there folks.

So what does 7 dollars get you? Actually quite a bit.

The sheath is the cheapest thing I have ever seen. I am unsure what it is made from. For starters, it is paper thin. The belt loop looks like it is already falling off new in the package. The sewing is very poor. Oh and before I forget, the sheath is too large for the multi-tool.

I find it short of amazing to be able to buy something like this for less than a tenner.

The tool has an exposed spring that keeps the pliers in an open state at all times. However, the spring used squeaks and groans in such a way that it does not instill confidence towards its longevity.

The tool selection is not bad for something that cost less than 10 dollars.

In one handle, we have:
-   Clip point blade, an awl with one side sharpened, medium and large flat head screwdrivers.

In the other handle, we have:
-   A combo fish scaler/file/ruler, small flat head screwdriver, Phillips driver, and a can opener.

Conclusion

Ok, what did anyone expect for something this cheap new? Well a lot more than the price would hint at. The Fuller is a solid piece of kit with a small dash of good quality added for good measure.  It is cheap through and through, but for the price, it isn’t all that bad. The tools do not lock. They do however, swing in and out nicely.

Pros:
-   Cheap.
-   Quality  to the construction that is better than the price would suggest.
-   Not a bad selection of folding tools.

Cons:
-   Spring sounds like it is on its last leg.
-   Tool do not lock.
-   Edges of the  sheet metal handles are not rounded, making the use of the pliers not comfortable.
-   The sheath should not be included in the package.

I have something very similar but non-branded in the glove box. I usually carry a decent tool with me but this is one of those just in case throw away tools and a useful second pair of pliers if needed.
