They're rare.  Kershaw only made the one plier based multi as far as I'm aware and that's it.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Chako I have a bit of a theory regarding MT's made by knife companies. They attract crazy arsed knife collectors with lots of cash.Kershaw A100's have roughly doubled in value since I started to  look at getting one(18months). When I first looked at them they were going for $40ish they seem to go for $90+ now. They have not been made for quite awhile too.I was very fortunate to get my one thanks to a three way trade with Neil & Dunc.
Another one is the Case/Zippo Fixxit tool. I would love a Case one with reference to Blackie Collins on it. But not the extra $100us they get over a Zippo Fixxit(Identical Tool different sticker/markings) is plain crazy.

The leather sheath that is with the Kershaw A100 auction, if it is a genuine Kershaw sheath , is quite rare.

Yikes. Well I would love to add one to the collection...but not at that price, at least not for that item.

I was wondering about that...mine has a nylon sheath. Was the leather one an early issue?

I picked up a new nylon sheath that included possibly the worlds most bulky bit holder  :o(I love it ::) :D :D) , from memory the paper work that came with it said the leather sheath for the A100 was an available option at that time. I have only seen 1 or 2 for sale with the leather sheath.

Well I have a Sheffield copy coming in someday that I won for a great deal. I would love to have at least one real Kershaw A100 though. I haven't seen many come up, and if they are that rare...

If ones come up, more will always come along.  ;)  That is some serious dosh for a tool that other members have got for much cheaper.

I've never seen one with the leather pouch though.  That's probably what's pushing it higher.

Well I reckon I am owning it soon unless it goes up significantly. I also have a high bid on another with a regular sheath. If all goes well, I may have them both. only time will tell.

When speaking with the two members of CRKT's i.d. Works team (who previously worked at Kershaw) at last year's Shot Show, they confided in us that the A100 was always a "loss leader" for Kershaw. At a time when the leading Leatherman's were going for $40US, the A100's suggested retail price was over $60. Yet Kershaw was not able to make any money on it (according to these fellows)

Now fast forward to 2009. I wonder if $162 is high enough for Kershaw to be profitable? :o :D

I also got one of these in the mail. A Sheffield Crocodile.

Looks like a knock off of the Kershaw, or is there a more interesting story behind this?

Nope, its a copy, nothing more than that. :-\

By the way, there's a comparison pic or two in this thread:  http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,10322.0.html
