I used my Classic to do that today. Our faucet in the kitchen sink was leaking, and maintenance is closed on the weekend. Whenever my wife turned the water on, it would shoot out of both sides of it's base. I took it apart and took a look at it. A washer is all it needs. However, like I said, maintenance is closed and the hardware stores are closed by now. So, i went into the closet, got some twine, went into my daughter's room and got some Vaseline, and went into the kitchen ready to work. I took the head of the faucet off, using the flathead of the Classic's file, removed the old washer. I cut some twine with the Classic's blade, and rolled some Vaseline through it. I got it nice and greasy, and then threaded it through the notch where the rubber washer goes. Using the flathead again I pushed the twine nice and deep, and then put it all back together. I turned on the water, and watched as a little bit of water beaded up. It still leaked a tiny bit then stopped. All done!! Now my wife can use the sink until tomorrow, when I go get a real washer. Sometimes you just have to use what you have at hand and improvise a little in order to get things working until you can fix them the right way.
