I checked the US Model 54591 (Early Traveller), against the specs shown in the catalog for Taveller (1.3702) and they are the same.  So it appears the name was maybe only reused once.  I also noticed that in the SAKwiki Climber History, there is an original note from LordKafer that mentions that a " 'Traveler' model "may have been the progenitor of the modern Climber".  He noted the only difference as the hook.  The link takes you to a Wenger knife though, I'll fix that.  It appears the real difference was the keyring, the hook being just evolution as on all SAKs with scissors.

We could have done this Rucksack, but Duder on SOSAK made short change of it.  Anyone have any neat catalogs or brochures they care to send me, I'll very happily accept them.

I think all the detective work here is done already and the 1982/3 sounds convincing to me.  A couple of things I noticed were;

I'd never heard of the Traveller name being used to describe what is a Climber without the key ring (not on SAKwiki either). Maybe it's no coincidence that the modern Traveller is another variation on the Climber. :think:

Also did anyone else notice that the Sportsman has a small blade, not a nail file?  What we would call a Tourist now.

This might well not be news to the collectors out there, but it was news to me.

BTW nice to see you here North Man. :tu:

I have a traveller then.  Its th same package as the climber minus keyring.  I guess I will have to take a pic of it for th wiki.  Even though I have no clue how it works.

Stick a snap of it here Zack, I'm sure IcanFixThat can sort it out.  Also, I just like looking at pics of SAKs. :D

So here are the pics of the the Traveller.  Couldn't decide which one I liked better so I included two.  Feel free to move these to the SAKWIKI if you wish.

The scissors are in there, just didn't feel like breaking all my nails and gashing myself.  The scissors also has the screw, not the rivet.

That's not a proper picture if you didn't fan out the scissors! I demand a redo!
Got those frog legs.

Awesome quality photos there.  Love the Apples, you don't see that too often.

However I agree in this case the Scissors are required to accurately show what model it is.
