New Member - Hello from London
on: August 25, 2009, 02:10:01 PM

Hello to all in the Multitool forum.   It's only over the past few years that I've become a bit of a 'multitool junkie'.  Over the years I've always had a love of knives and tools, and have usually used swiss army knives from the likes of Victorinox and Wenger.... some of them must be 20+ years old now, and still going strong.

I bought a Leatherman a few years for general duties and for work..... and immediately grew to love it.  I have experimented with other brands such as Gerber and have found them to be sub-standard in quality in comparison to Leatherman..... I don't know much about other brands such as SOG... but that's why I joined this place.

Cheers,

Marc

Thanks for the welcome ... and thanks for the mod work Mike.... I did try to find a new members section to avoid spamming up this section, but to no avail!

I fancy a PST 1 or 2 as I believe they are the original leatherman (although they have changed in minor ways throughout the years I understand)....   Now that UK eBay has forbidden the sale of knives and related items some months ago, it is difficult to find such items with any amount of ease..... I can't even order from the US eBay - how Cr*p is that!

Any suggestion where to look for these kind of items, that won't break the bank?

Marc

Welcome to the forum Marc- depending on your perspective, we could be the cause of and/or solution to your problems!  :D

I have a PST listed for sale at the moment, and soon there will be an alternative to eBay when it comes to knives, tools and other cool stuff.  But, that's all the details I'm going to give for now!  :D

You're a very welcoming bunch....   and I think i'm gonna be spending a bit of cash from what people are saying.

Question:   I have found two PST's, a PST 1 and a PST 2 both in new condition with sheath... they'll probably come in around £30 each (that's about $50 each)..... good or bad?  (this price includes P&P to the UK from USA also)

Must buy more, must buy more........

I kneel before you .... oh Chako

Sounds like I would need to devote my life to collecting MTs for the next couple of months, and take out a loan in order to surpass Chako's collection..... not likely

Are metal prices so high these days because Chako has 70% of the world's steel tied up in MTs?     :D
