You have me thinking that I haven't made a family pic of them in a while

Need to see if I can get a group pic made with the newest editions included :tu:

I would like to see what you and other have in your ST300 collection. Especially, modded versions. I have two more coming in the next week or so. I’m picking up a BO and  SS, that I plan on swapping the handles between the two and adding a bit driver to utilize my ratcheting extension and bits.

Color swaps look awesome 8)

I have a couple of those myself :tu:

I do believe the main thing I am missing from the ST300 collection is a BO 300m and the 30th Anniversary edition one

A few of us did this to the ST300s and Rebars here at MTO some years back  I would have to go to my original color swap thread to see who did this first

Thanks  :hatsoff:

Inspired by Pancho and others on MTO, I did the color swap on two ST300 that I received last week. While performing the swap, I removed the small and medium slotted screwdrivers and installed a bit driver in there place.

Thoughts and observations on the swap. The swap went relatively straight forward. While swapping the pliers, I would recommend heating up the Chicago Bolts with a lighter or soldering gun to soften the red loctite thread locker. I ended up stripping one of my Loki wrenches. This is the first time I recall seeing red loctite being used. Another observation, was that when I installed the bit drivers, I didn’t realize there were differences. In the stainless handled version, I installed a BO bit driver from a Surge. In the black oxide handles I installed a satin bit driver from a Charge. Here is the lesson I learned. The Charge bit driver locks up and will work, however, it will sit to low in the handle making it more difficult to grab with your finger nail. Looking at the Surge bit driver, you will notice a “kick” (a little nub) on the bottom of the bit driver. This kick holds bit driver up further in the handle making it easier to catch the top of the driver with your finger nail.

So, I realize I am more a visual learner and a wall of words is not always helpful. In my post above I was trying to explain the difference in the Charge / Wave bit adapter and the Surge / ST300M. Here is an example that I hope clearly illustrates the difference. Charge on top, Surge on bottom.

I think it's a winner. I actually like the old style pliers tip with the finer grooves more than the current ones.

I love MTs in BO, and the old style pliers are nice.

Now... do I need a new style spare ST300 now?  :D
