It would look better if it hadn't turned the pic sideways

Then don't let Mr. 300 take his own selfies any more  :D

I can't do anything with him he is so grumpy all the time :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :D

People telling me I need to lose weight all the time makes me grumpy too.

I have to admit that I have told my Surge the same. But I guess ST300 is on a right track.

As long as he doesn't complain about my weight I don't complain about his  :D

After the challenge I think I will take him apart and clean him really good and oil him up and put him back together and that might take care of a bit of his moodiness ;)

That is one of the things that makes a Leatherman special. If you want it a multi-tool that was happy all the time, you should have gone with a SAK. Of course their overly cheery personality can get really annoying at times too.

Maybe that is why I carry 2 SAKs  Yeah that makes sense they counter the grumpy of Mr. 300 nicely :D

I'm still using my ST300 for just about everything around the house. A worthy successor to my old Core.

It's got a few bumps and scrapes but it seen plenty of action by now :)

I used to come here a lot.

My oldest, who is learning to be a carpenter, just picked up a ST300 for work.  What a beast it is!!  It makes my OG Supertool and my Rebar look pretty small in comparison.  I have to say, I like it! :tu: :tu:

It has "that" Phillips driver that oozes awesomeness. In 2010 there wasn't another driver to rival it in my opinion - I don't know if anyone has come up with anything better since mind.

Think PST with same toolset as the Supertool 300 and same look and plier head

Yeah - I was looking at those Poncho - they look very interesting.

Thing is, I've no intention of starting to collect again, and I'm still very, very happy with my Charge TTi for my pocket or bag. I'm more likely to get myself a new TTi than anything else in the near future I reckon!

I used to come here a lot.

I'm aware that there's a newer model, but haven't looked that closely tbh! Has anyone done a comparison / review that you know of?

My ST300.
Is it normal with the ST300 inner/handle tools to have "Play" (up and down/towards and away the lock notch) when locked open? I have no problem with it as long as its really how its designed.

I think it's normal for a small amount. Both of mine are fairly solid but there is a bit of play on the file and saw.

Hi. Anyone of you edc the ST300? Is it too heavy?
I am considering a Rebar or a ST300 for edc during my working days. I will put it in my bag and I won't belt/pocket carry it.

I have a Surge. The size of the Surge is ok as I put it in my bag but it is too heavy for edc. I'll only take it when I know I need strong tools that day, I am currently edc-ing a Wingman but for some reasons I need a tougher and stronger tool during my working days, I mean, the Wingman is still good and I still love it but I will leave it for weekend edc.
I have checked the spec of a ST. It is about the same size of the Surge which I think is OK and it is a lot lighter. It is a bit heavier than the Wave but I am thinking if it will be too heavy. Rebar is even lighter than the Wingman but I am worrying if it can really take abuses. I have read quite a lot of review saying the rebar not being sturdy enough while the ST300 is more solid and tough. For one reasons I am considering a strong tool from a Wingman is the toughness and ability to take a lot of abuses. I don't want to break my tool in the middle of a tight schedule task which every second count. I'll skip the wave/charge this time as they are expensive and after owning the Wingman and Surge for a few years, I found myself not a big fan of OHO tools. It's a nice-to-have feature but not a must-have one. Though I love scissors, I always carry a SAK climber with the key-chain, missing a pair of Scissors on Rebar or ST300 won't kill me. I never like the LM scissors anyway, not even the one on Surge but it's always nicer to have a pair of scissors..... anyway, And yes, I need an awl. It's one of the most used tool though a lot of people says it is not too useful.

After all, if you were me, which one will you buy? (not both >:D no)
I am worrying the Rebar will not be strong enough to take abuses, and I am also worrying the ST300 is too heavy which I'll hesitate Edc-ing. Anyone have experience of edc-ing a Surge and a ST300? Can you share the difference? Thanks and sorry for a dumb question.

IMO Surge is waaaaay more uncomfortable to carry than the ST300

The ST 300 is not hard at all to belt carry, but I find the extra oiunces on the Surge too much really. Size-wise the ST seems more compact, less protuding things and irregularities to deal with that definitely pay and make a difference in the carry-ability department.

That's just me, of course, but even with the proper sheath (nylon or leather, horizontal or vertical, tight and close to the body, no wiggle or dancing around, etc.) there is a very noticeable difference.
So, to me, Surge is bag carry while ST300 is suitable for belt carry or cargo pants pocket.

Thanks Peacent . It's really helpful and you brought up another point.  The shape.  The size of the Surge is OK to me for bag carry but I don't want to put it in my bag without the sheath due to the OHO tools.  They will scratch my other things in my bag but if I put the sheath on,  the whole thing will be more bulky. I think the ST300 is more smooth and kind enough to be naked in my bag.  Is that right?

By the way,  can you please compare the thickness of the handle of surge and ST?  I don't have big hands. The handle of the surge is some how maximum to me though I can still manipulate it well but anything bulkier than that handles might be a concern to me.  Thanks peacent for the information.
