Next 5 tools you're buying?
on: May 11, 2007, 03:20:42 AM
I was just thinking ahead of what tools I'm going to buy when I get the money, so I want to know what the next 5 multitools you plan to buy are.

I always plan everything ahead, but it seldom goes as planned. :-\  ::)

1. SwissChamp XAVT
2. LeatherMan Wave (my first LeatherMan!)
3. Victorinox RescueTool
4. SwissTool Spirit
5. Not sure, but I've got my eye on the Skipper by Victorinox

Let's see here...

1) I'm on the list to get a CRKT Guppie whenever (if ever!) they become available.
2) ...and a CRKT Zilla-Tool also.
3) I really like the look of Thargor's new CyberTool 41 HERE.
4) Prime77's camoflage Blast is very stunning too.
5) Vic RescueTool

Me too.

3) Something else from SOG. I just got a Powerlock and am quite impressed with the build quality, smoothness of operation and general heft of the tool.
4) Victorinox Spirit. I've never had a Victorinox Multi-tool before. I think it's about time.
5) Gerber Diesel Black Oxide. I should start a Gerber fan club, I love these stupid things.

Anybody want to carpool with me? At the price of gasoline these days, I figure I would then be able to buy everything on my list in less than a month... :)

yeah, im lucky im at uni right now, in a town where everyone cycles or walks. Prefer walking myself, have never cycled on a road, and dont wish to start learning now, there was just an accident qutie recently where a student was killed by a lorry that didnt see him as they were both turning (him on the inside).

Petrol prices (and very high insurance costs) are one of the reasons I dont think I will drive until I actually start working (will have to take the test first  ::) which means forking out ~£20 per 1 hour lessons)

Only then, since otherwise I don't think i can justify emptying my bank accounts for something I'm not even going to do, or need to do right now.

seriously, its just not worth getting a car any more, there exspensive and unless your over thirty and have at least 3 no claims is it really worth all the time effort and money to just waste your life away in traffic jams?

motorcycles still work, and i rode them for years, and if you can swallow the risks there a hugely rewarding experience!

just my opinion folks, so please don,t burn me as a heritic

very true, and very sorry  ;)

Next tool I wil lbe buying (don't know about 5, im more the single tool sort of guy):

(probably) leatherman freestyle (esp if its titanium chasis, with S30V or better steel knife)

I dunno what it is about that thing which attracts me to it so. If I really fall into love with it then I'll probably be buying a SAK which has all the tools that I would normally want on a mulitool, which the freestyle doesnt have.

Otherwise I'm sticking with my Camo Leatherman Charge TTI. Just too damn sweet.

The thread may have gone a bit off the original topic, but a conversation is like a living thing.  You never know where it will take you, and that's a good thing.

Im still ******* waiting for that, hopefully when I wake up tomorrow there'll be a Swisstech Utilikey and a Cybertool sitting in my letterbox, I hate the waiting but there is nothing better than finding a tool or gadget in your mail, its the closest you can get to recreating that Xmas morning feeling from when you were a kid :D
