1967 Catalog Page
« on: September 22, 2009, 02:59:31 AM »
Hi,

So have people here seen this 1967 catalog page before?  I'm sorry I don't have it any larger all I have is this little image.

Note the Woodsman and it simularity to the huntsman (and present day huntsman), but huntsman shown has long-nail-file. Champion with long-nail-file, The number of bails.  The Master Craftsman is shown as well.

Very cool.  I have a Champion with the long nail file and bail.  I have to get some pics of it and post them.  :-\

I wish I could remember were I found it.  It was quite a while back before I changed computers and I kind of forgot about it, probably because I was cursing that it was not larger, and I think there were a couple other years as well but much less legible.  Maybe someone will recognize it and let us know where the sources are.  Do you think maybe it was on the official Vic Forum?  Maybe Duder or someone that's been collecting for a little while might recognize it.  I'm sure I can't be the first who stumbled upon it.

It's small but legible so I should add it to the Wiki I think.

This page was originally scanned by Vincent (UnknownVT).  Vincent sent be an original size scan, plus an addtional page that just had 3 knives on it from Victorinox.  I processed the pages slightly to correct for skew, and to crop the partial page. Very interesting pages, but they are not from a Victorinox catalog, but a reseller or distributor's catalog.  Uploaded to SAKwiki.

Thanks Vincent!

Great! I had that 1967 page for awhile now but am glad to get it in a larger scan size. Now I wonder about these other 2 pages I have collected from the web? Can you get them larger too? Are these his as well?

I notice the Woodsman name is still being used in the 1982 page to describe the same SAK as in the 1967 (Modern Huntsman without T&T).

Also in the 1967 page the Craftsman is what I would think of as a Fieldmaster.

My head's starting to hurt.  :-\ ;)

Keep in mind these are catalog pages from an independent seller of various brands and they may have added their own interpretative names to describe some knife model they were unsure of.

Those other two pages are almost certainly his scans from photocopies he was sent.

That's a good point.  I was just looking here: http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-browse_image.php?galleryId=47&sort_mode=imageId_asc&imageId=898&scalesize=0
and the Huntsman is as we would now recognise it today.

Ya notice how the names on the 58mm Executive and Companion appear reversed.  This is almost certainly a printing error rather than something that changed later on.  I should have noted that in the description for those not too familair with the models.  Hopefully I can fix that up later.  Maybe I should have corrected the page before posting it, but that's going a little too far.
