spyderco bug review
on: September 22, 2009, 07:50:22 PM

i recieved a spyderco bug today,this is my 1st spydie  :D.
and ive gotta say i am really impressed. it came in a small black box which is foamed lined and also has a silver bug logo.

the closed length of this knife is about 41mm and has a stainless body with an etched bug logo.
i paid just under £7.00 for this bug and the fit and finish is superb no blade play at all.

im gunna need to put a lanyard or keyring through the hole as you cant feel it in your pocket and it does not have a pocket clip. straight from the box it cut through paper.

this will be a great knife for cutting loose cotton on clothing ,opening food packages etc, espcially when in front of NKP.

i believe the steel is 3cr13mov, IMO this is great for a small knife that i can put in my wallet.

due to its size i cannot OHO it but im not to fussed about that ,this knife has serious quality and wow factor in abudance.

Closed length:41mm
open:73mm
blade length:34mm
edge:29mm
thickness:5mm
width(across blade and handle when closed):16mm
hole:4.5mm. :)

i dont really know what spyder drop is TBH .
but i just threw it down my stairs (13 steps) on to the carpet below with the blade open ( im guessing thats what a spyer drop is(sort of!!))
and its still perfect no breakages (pheww) :). i think the handle hit the floor 1st as its heavier than the blade.

If one got very tiny hands, the spyder drop might work... (Not me I got big thumbs)  ;)
I really like my bug, there's a real "quality" feeling about it and the thing about the no OHO,
just makes it better...  :D
Great little thing...  :tu:

The Bug is a little bit too small to be useful for me I think.

It's cute though - no mistake. Nice review HH!
