I am a little concerned for the freestyle as Neil has not allowed the bees to oversee proceedings.
Neil I hope you are not breaching any 'Geneva Convention' protocols in your experimenting on that little tool  :ahhh :ahhh :D

I'm pulling the blade.  I like the blade but it makes it illegal for UK edc.  So its being converted into just a nice pocket sized pair of pliers.  I'm just trying to decide if I should make some scales for it to tart it up a bit or not

Too bad there's no alternative tool you could put in it's place...like a saw blade or bit holder.

Neil is it blade length or blade locking that makes it illegal .
Would it be possible/practical too make the blade non locking & usable at the same time

We need a UK blade law definition smilie.  :D

Legal EDC knives (without good reason) in the UK have to have a cutting edge sub 3" and be non locking.

At least throw a file or something in there.

Unfortunately it can't be converted into a slippie :(  No good putting a saw there as it would fall foul of the same law.  About the only thing I could think to put there would be some kind of pry tool

I seriously considerd a file but really don't fancy trying to cut that hardness of steel to size :)

Might be possible to grind a file to size, using a standard benchtop machine. Lots of dust though!

Just put the file in a vise with what you want to keep in the vise, and the extra out the top. Keep a little extra extra too, just in case. Then bend it till it snaps. Works for me. Grind down the ugly fracture line, and you are in business

I was considering using it to make a OH slippie as they're nice enough blades.  If I don't you can have first refusal :)

I wonder if the blade could be made easily removable...like the Buck Selector. Then you could swap it with something else for carry about town...like a mustache comb

You could go back to the Flair for inspiration and make a one hand opening olive fork (just to be contrary).  :pok:
