ST 300 to the rescue
on: October 03, 2009, 12:10:56 PM

My wife and I were going into town to see a movie friday night,we stopped to get gas and her car wouldn't start,I asked her to get her battery checked out  a week ago,but needless to say I was stuck at the gas station untill I could get someone to jump start the car,we headed to sears to get the battery tested and ofcourse it was dead as a doornail.sears says no problem we have a battey but there is a 2 hour wait to get it changed. So i say no problem i have a leatherman tool i will change it myself, the guy laughs and hands me the battery.By the time he comes to check on us the battery is changed and i hand him the old one,he says wow that was fast, are you interested in a job,i tell hem no thanks and he says you saved yourself $12.We made the moive on time and saved some money, thanks to my supertool 300.maybe a good tool can pay for itself.

I would give the st 300 a 10 out of 10 based on my usage, the handles were very confortable and it was easy to loosen the nuts holding the battery cables and the battery holder.like i said it only took a couple of minutes start to finish the leatherman couldn't have been more usefull.the tech at sears was supprised how fast it went.this is a very solid tool,i have carried it everyday and have never needed anything else.very tough.

I think you are quite mistaken. The ST300 performed quite poorly and is a piece of junk that endangered you and your wife's lives. Quickly, get rid of it by sending it to me! :ahhh

:D  :D

Cool story.  Sometimes those battery terminals are a pain to access...and/or corroded and tough to unscrew even with the proper wrench.

thanks for the comments,it made me feel good to be able to solve a problem on my own,and quickl.I  am flattered that anyone thinks it would make a good tool tale,if I were a better story teller I would write them.i am surely grateful for having the tool when I needed it.

Would Have been nice if it was an instance where the tool payed for itself.

Unless, that is, it did and you're holding out on us where you got the tool for 12 dollars.

I think that since I carry it everyday, and it has already saved me $12,if you consider it has a 25 year warranty,I would say it is on its way to doing just that. 24 years and 10 months to go.
