Spirit sent in for Repair
on: October 16, 2009, 01:31:37 PM
As some of you will know my new Spirit X had quite a bit of play in the plier springs ( the part where you attach the corkscrew ) on both handles , so I sent it back to Switzerland today . I didn't bother sending to Burton McCall because last time they wrote to me asking if I wanted to wait 6 weeks while they sent it to Ibach . So this time I've cut out the middle man and gone straight to the organ grinder . Plus I'm not sure if the "X" model is available in the UK yet so that might p*ss them off a little .Anyway I'll keep you all updated on how it goes .

I've sent it insured ( Airsure ) Royal mail so I can track it all the way . For ref. it cost me £6.56 .

Hi Dunc

Have you received the Spirit from repair yet, i sent you a pt. I have a Spirit that has the same problem.
If you hold the thumb over the plier spring you can feel some play up and down closing and opening the handles, when the plier is fully open it is locked tight and well so it does not seem to affect the use of the tool. Looks to be on other Spirit owners in the world to.......more or less play.

Not sure if this is a fault... still one can not help wondering?
All the clicking noice is on mine.......as it is on models that has no play
