MT.O stamped Raker Ring Tools
on: November 19, 2009, 04:03:22 AM
I have good news, bad  news, and then more good news.
The stamp with MT.O for the Raker Ring Tools came in. :)  It was the wrong size. :(  I ordered another and it will be here in time for me to get the specially stamped Ring Tools out by the 1st of Dec.  :)  Just in time for your Christmas shopping.  For those that would like purchase one, I need your order in by the end of next week, Nov 27, 2009.  The choices are between 3 of the models.  A damascus one with O2 and 1/4" hex, an ATS-34 with O2 and 1/4" hex, and ATS-34 with two hex.  All material will be 3/32" thick.  You can still purchase them after that date but they may not be marked with the MT.O stamp.  When there is enough orders for more, I will run a batch again with the stamp on them.
Thanks and look forward to hearing from those that haven't placed their order yet.
Have a Great Day.
This is the new RT with the design changes made.  The double hex will have a larger hex where the O2 wrench is.

The ATS-34 RT's are $20.00 ea and the damascus RT is $30.00 ea.  On orders of 5 or more, there will be a 15% discount and you can mix or match them.  Internation orders need to add about $5.00 for shipping and domestic orders are shipped free.  If you email me ( ray@rakerknives.com ) your wishes, I will keep and fill them by the 1st of Dec.
I got you down, Grant.  Thanks

My paypal is the same as the email.  Please send an email first and then I can send a payment request when they are ready to ship.  I really don't like prepayment on items that aren't ready to go.  Thanks

DaveK,
Yes, I do have it logged in.  That is one reason that I like to receive an email order and then I can put them all in a folder so I won't miss any one.  I will be stamping a few extra of each model.  If you get more people that want to go in with you for the quantity buy, just let me know so I can add it.
For those that know some one that fishes a lot.  The sportsman model makes an excellent line cutter and when put on a retractable key chain. It is always at your finger tips when hooked in your waist band or on your belt.  Same way as using it for the seat belt cutter when driving. :)

I wouldn't exactly call it a deadline but if you have it ordered by the 27th of Nov, I should be able to ship it to you by the first of Dec.  I will stamp a few extra of each one but when the first batch is gone, the sale is off and it goes back to regular pricing.   They will still be available with the MT.O stamp from time to time and with out a stamp, all the time.
Again, If you email me with your order, I won't lose it.  I may not get every one if they only post.  My email is ray@rakerknives.com
I will double check this thread with the emails to try to make sure no one is left off the list.
If there are any other questions, please let me know.

jzmtl, I had talked to Brad last week end at the Tulsa Wanenmacher Arms show and he said he has been using the same mix of steels for a long time.  I went to his web site and got this:
"Material = (4) layers 5160, (3) layers 203E, (3) layers 52100, (3) layers 15N20 folded 5 times for 416 damascus layers."
I know he doesn't forge it completely down to size as he uses a blanchard grinder to get them all flat.  He does several different patterns and you can check them out at http://www.alabamadamascussteel.com/servlet/StoreFront .  I have him pick me out some that he likes and go from there.

The larger hex.  The larger hex was made to fit the nut on the reel handle of an Ambassador fishing reel.  Since this reel is made in Germany,  this turns out to be a metric size wrench of 10 mm.  For those that use the metric system, this turns out to be a plus.  For the fisherman that uses the Ambassador, it will still fit. :)

Thanks for that, I emailed you a question about the larger hex size, no need to email me back now.

Looking forward to receiving my 2 now.
