Blast - How to use wire stripper?

I'm pretty sure it is the triangle shaped notch on my bottle opener/can opener, but I am unsure as to how to use it properly.

Its not very effective, but it you stick the wire and spin it out the sharpened part and then pull, the sheathing should come off. I just use the knife blade as its a lot quicker, but hey if its there use it.

It's pretty awkward and not really sharp enough to use effectively. I just use the wire cutters to cut the sheathing.
I haven't tried it, but the wire stripping notch should work great with a firesteel though.

I've used the wire stripper a couple of times. It doesn't work great, but it does work. The groove actually catches niclely on certain guages of wire.

It works the best on solid wire, especially all the 12 and 14 gauge romex running through most modern homes. It also works well on scraping off the nylon-thermoplastic of THHN.
However for stranded wire I've found the best option is to use the hard wire cutter notch-which itself doesn't work that great on solid wire.
So yea, depends on what you are stripping.
