Today was my visit to the doctor..the stitches are gone, and I'm cleared to resume full activities..so tomorrow I'm mounting my faithful two-wheeled stead, and going back to the site I took my spill, just to show the street it isn't getting the better of me ! All of this in time to get a visit from a 7yr old dynamo from Minnesota called a grand daughter !
LIFE IS WONDERFUL !

It felt great to be back on wheels, and even better to have all the vital organs in their proper place. While I was involuntarily dismounted,I had time to play with and work with the Wenger Biker's Tool, which I have to give a pass on, not because it's bad..far from it,it's all good quality stuff, but limited in functions.I've also had the opurtunity to spend time with the Bell Bike Multi Tool...which gets a thumbs up.
For 13 dollars, and available almost everywhere, you get a multi-tool that looks amazingly like a Topeak, and made in Taiwan, like Topeak...hmmm I wonder. The halves seperate for for a better fit in the hand. The box end wrenches lock in place, however the instructions don't indicate that. You also get a pouch, tire levers, and a patch kit.The downside is that re-connecting the halves is a bit fiddly, but once they do it's a good fit,and the pouch is flimsy, and as I said the instructions such as they are don't indicate the tools lock. The positive is that the tools are good, very affordable, and easily available I picked up my sample at WalMart...Later I'll post a more thorough review

How's everything holding up now?  I noticed you've been quiet again and I hope you didn't test the resistance of Mother Earth again!

Maybe you should think about using that Bell Bike Tool to install the grand daughter's training wheels onto YOUR bike....?  ;D

It's been quiet on this front, but been happily busy on the home front with my grand daughter..Saturday my daughter wanted to go to some yard sales to see if there was anything she may want to take back home, and boy did I get lucky..for 3 dollars I picked up one of the first year Diamondback road bikes, with Tange lugged steel frame, all that's wrong is that it needs needs new tires and tubes, some cleaning, and it's good to go.
I couldn't find appropriate size training wheels though .
It was a funny and poignant scene Sunday evening,my grand daughter reading the riot act to me about being safe on the bike..what can you say to a pint-sized Solomon?

Good to hear you are still with us.  Maybe we should get you to check in every 72 hours or we'll send out an ambulance! :D

The irony of it all is that I'm an EMT of over 20 years experience..but that was one thing I couldn't patch up on the spot.

That's the best part of being a Canadian... I can do all kinds of stupid things and not have to worry about having to pay to have my organs re-inserted! :D
