Mate,

You got a nice one there bud, like zed mentioned you can never go wrong with a Casio......they make solid time pieces. I've been on a watch buying kick myself as of late. Got my eye on a couple from Casio but seem to wind up always getting something else. I need to add a few to the stable soon.

Nice watch.

Casio was my go to watch in my High School years. I found them exciting during the 80s because of all the new features they came out with. To a teenager, it was very enticing stuff.

In my grade 9 year, I had a Casio Calculator watch. I remember the math teacher telling me to take the watch off on occasions. I wore it down to nothing. The keypad wasn't very sturdy or durable on those first watches.

My second and last Casio was this one that I dug up this morning from storage. I had forgotten about this venerable watch. I wore this one from grade 10 to 13. Once I got into University, I moved onto a more classy style watch. The thermometer function was a very cool factor to have. I remember annoying everyone around me with constant temp updates when I first got this watch. Not to mention telling everyone what time it was in Tokyo. :D

The Batteries have died out a long time ago. I might revive this one for kicks later.

Weights 157 grams. (pretty heavy watch).

Guess it is pretty heavy - over 5 1/2 ounces!

Casios are great watches - I've owned more Casios over the years than any other brand.

Got my first Casio over thirty years ago.  My first decent digital LCD watch, it served faithfully for years until it was stolen.

Still have a G-Shock or two lying around somewhere.

Looks like a good piece of gadgetry... also you could use it whack someone with at that weight!

I like the idea of a gadget watch but I'm torn between that and aesthetics - I'm in to the Seiko diver look at the moment so these don't quite fit the bill.

I've been wearing this one for a couple years now: http://www.rei.com/product/794032
Tons of abuse, still works perfectly. I scored it on E-bay for $75. It was flawless and for all intents and purposes brand new. By far my most successful E-bay snag even to this day. Honestly my favorite feature is the solar power. It has never gone below half charge even using the EL a gazillion times at night, or not exposing it to any light for weeks on end. Can't say enough about how well Casio's Tough Solar system works.

Absolutely. I've had Timex or two, some other brands here and there, know people with Seikos, etc. I have always been a die hard Casio fan even as a kid. I really don't think for the money it gets any better. Of course there are better watches out there, but for double the price (or much much more). As far as reasonably attainable watches, you simply cannot beat Casio. Both in quality and features. I could go buy some nice watch for the same money as an upper-end Casio, and sure it MAY be a bit higher quality, or it MIGHT be a bit more accurate, or it will POSSIBLY look fancier and nicer, but probably not all three, and it's pretty much guaranteed not to have anywhere near the features.

Hi mates
I intent to climb to mount Olympus on August and I found it as a cheap excuse for my wife (master of the house)  :salute: to buy a Casio paw 1100 1v http://www.casio.com/products/Timepiece/Pathfinder/PAW1100-1V/
It is also that my old 1993 citizen promaster chronograph just want a major repair and that f@ckin crysis that makes me miserable and I bid casio on ebay for 90 usd +18shipment. So with one of my beloved multi-tools I 'm ready to climb to the mount of gods.
I cant wait to get it on my hand.
