Battleship Texas
on: January 03, 2010, 02:49:37 AM
My in-laws, wife and I went and saw the Battleship Texas today. This ship was in WW1 and WW2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Texas_(BB-35)

Now for the pics :D

I'm 6'5 and can't image daily life on board. Some areas were tight and the crews quarters were stacked like sardines. Whole ship smelled of old canvas and paint thinner.

Hi Pacu! Those are awesome pics! My grandfather was in the U.S. navy during the First World War. I forgot the name of the ship where he's listed stationed here in the Phils.
It's amazing  that you already had warships during that time and how you were able to preserve them! :salute:

You guys should see some of the ships I work on then... :D

The Wallenius Wilhelmsen Faust is one of many car ships I work, and it's the biggest car carrier in the world, and was featured in Season 1 of Mighty Ships on the Discovery Channel:

She'll take 8,000 cars at a time!   :o

One did, although it wasn't at sea, it was in the Channel:

In fact, it was such a smashing success, that numerous other ships smashed into it....
