The "Chako is sick" photography thread!
on: January 12, 2010, 02:42:46 PM
Well I was forced to take the day off after catching a stomach bug. When I called in to work earlier to tell them that I wasn't up to standing in front of students without a portapot strapped to my posterior for posterity’s sake! I was informed by my VP that it is going around. I guess I should pay more attention to who is not at work and why. Maybe if I had, it wouldn't have been such a lovely surprise!  :D

Well, in a faint attempt to improve my miserable disposition, I will be doing a bit of photography. It is all therapeutic.  ::)

So, enjoy the photos as I will be posting a few more during this day in this thread. Possibly quite a few if I am up to it.

cheers.

Chako.

That is a sick collection.

sick: crazy, cool, insane.  An adjective similar to cool referring to something that is either great or completely wrong.

that is a good one. That sort of flashed me back to one of my favorite poems.

High Flight
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughtered-silvered wings;
Sunward I have climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds-and done a hundred things
You’ve not dreamed of-wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence.  Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air,
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I’ve topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew.
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

How about a 13th Century arming sword replica.

This series is titled: SwissTools Unite!

I think this will be the last for today.

My father's 60s era hunting knife, his 60s era Silva Huntsman compass, a vintage Victorinox, and some 30 caliber casings for atmosphere.

Sorry to come back to this thread so late.  I gotta ask though, who did the arming sword?  It sort of looks familiar but I can't quite place it.  Lovely looking bit of kit anyway even if it's not quite my period of sword.

How pathetic is this? It is Valentine's day and I have nobody special to spend it with. Why that is almost like being sick in some regards. Guess I need a bit of something to cheer me up. Why not a bit of photography.  :D

So I present to you...

The Chako is Sick Part Deux!

Tinny and 6 Bucks.

Buck carpet rolled out for Tinny.

M109 taking cover behind a wall of Micra's

M109 and some Leathermans.

Spanish Cup Hilt Rapier, Main Gauche, and a fist full of Mini's!

Main Gauche flanked by Mini's.

This is my first sword, its an old beater that is now a little over 20 years old now. Man time flies by. I used to handle this when I was studying back in High School. It helped me focus at the time. Needles to say, although it is a cheapy, it has great sentimental value to me. Here it is used as a prop for the Leatherman Super Tool family.

A high class duo.

Paul Kane is a local artist that does these nice little soap stone boxes. I have a few of his small boxes. So that is what is mixed in with some of Leatherman's MTs.

Why I feel a bit better already.  :D
