A few older Victorinox Soldiers came in today.
on: January 13, 2010, 12:38:29 AM
I just picked up two packages. One from Shadeone, and another from another eBay seller.

Both contained some vintage Alox.

On with the pictures.

Today was a great day for Soldiers.

From left to right, a Victorinox 70, 76, 84, 86, and a 91 DAK.

Those fill an empty space in my collection.

Now the only Alox I truly am missing are the sailor and seaman.

I was going for one on eBay, but the nuts are out again in full force.

This seems to be the "new normal" - 5 bidders on that auction were willing to pay over $100 for it.

Shadeone  :salute:

Well I did place a 150 dollar bid on it. That is about as much as I am willing to pay to complete my Alox lineup. No luck with them going for 400+ though.  :o

Very nice score Chako. The prices on some of those "rare vintage" pieces are absolutley insane to me. Thank god a 68 soldier shouldn't be too much if and when I track one down.

I know. I have been looking for some of these for a while now. Usually, some nut outbids me really high on the old Victorinox stuff. I have noted that the Wenger vintage stuff goes for a lot less, which explains why I have a few of the 70s Wengers way before I could get a few of the Vics.

Now looking for the Seaman, and sailor. Then I can say I have it pretty much all. However, with prices going over 300 for these….it might take me a very long time to get one. Possibly have to wait it out for the uber rich to get their fill first before I can get mine.

ive seen so many different people wanting specific years of soldiers recently... someone should start a soldier trading thread where people can post what they have and what they are looking for year wise, that way people can better find the years they are looking for and more connections would be made... just and idea!
