Picked up a Leatherman Core BO off Ebay. =)
on: February 01, 2011, 07:25:50 AM
Love my new leatherman core.
the tools lock and it seems all of them are still factory sharp.

the pliars are a little tight though.  I used some victorinox oil and it seemed to help a little.

I'm posting some pics to show off this beauty.
I paid $24 shipped which seems like a decent deal to me.

That is a good deal  :o Don't worry about the stiff pliers they will loosen up in time . Better to have them tight then loose with play .

thanks for the comments.

I did notice that the BO was making my hand a little black. (I've seen this before)
So I have a little trick. I wipe the MT down real good with a damp cloth.
I take a little bit of car wax and apply it to the handles. let it dry, wipe it,
viola!! no more BO coming off onto my hands, plus it gives the MT handles a smooth feel.

also I have some leather conditioner and used that on the sheath.
sheath looks good now. =)

I'm really enjoying this tool and this forum.  =)

That's a great looking tool.

I'm in a little bit of a mental Core dilemma right now.

I've had a regular core since 2008, but never really carried it.

Since a few months ago, ive been EDCing the Leatherman ST 300. I love carrying it around everyday, so I bought a BO version of the ST 300 and ive been carrying it for a few days since it came.

So, now that I am used to carrying a heavy tool everyday, I can't help but want to get a BO Core and carry it everyday.

I always type long posts, bottom line:

IM JEALOUS MAN, right on to ya for getting that tool, and at that price too!!!

yeah, down side to it is its pretty heavy,
..But its got a lot of tools and some really awesome needle nose pliers, which is a big plus in my book.

also something I really like on the core is there are these little "hooks" that stick up on each tool so you can grab the little hook to pull the tool up.
really handy as easy to get the tools out. some tools you have to almost rip off your fingernail to get out a tool.  Not with the Core!

mine is made in mid 2008 so ours was maybe made in the same year.
still got over 20 years left for the warranty.  lol

Just get a BO wave so I can be jealous of yours.  LOL

A BO discontinued Leatherman for under $25.00 is a great deal. Congratulations.
