A can opener would have been better, you can open a bottle with almost every implement on a MT and I don't want to use my blade to open a can...............But I am still getting 4 :D

I'm the opposite.  A can opener is no use to me at all.

Right.  I HUNT for cans that require an opener, just to play with that tool.  Aside from canned vegetables, there aren't that many regular cans left.  Most soup cans have pull tabs too.  :ahhh

And cans of tuna are seriously OLD school---flat packets now, baby!

I'm all over that one!

I was quite tempted to get an old one recently and the improvements to the new model make it fairly irresistible  :gimme:

Now, to choose the colour....

I have to have a blue one! This thing looks great!

I wonder how well the lock on the handle is? Like can I use the plier head as a kind of carbiner to attach to my backpack and feel like it won't fall off till I release the handle lock?

Ya know, like the SwissTech micro pliers?

Very true, especially since these have a MSRP of only $20 (they're bound to be even cheaper in stores).

The discussion about the "originality" of SOG's new knives seemed worthy of its own thread, so I split it off and moved it over here: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,16877.0.html

Another vote here for can-opener over bottle-opener.
Why can't they just mimic the combo-opener (opens bottles and cans) like on the Victorinox Waiter?
Haven't bought a SOG multi-tool of any kind since i bought my Paratool back in the 90's,might be time to pick a new model up.
Mostly i use my Vic Spirit but i might just get a SOG Powerlock 2.0 this year and try it out.

I've pretty much talked myself into a green Micro, just to have a tool with lineage that traces back to the old OSS escape knives.  Be even better if it had a bunch of hacksaws in it though  :D

Was just looking at the Micro again, and had a weird observation...is the phillips/handle on these hollow?  The holes drilled for the spring return make it look like the plier handle might be bent sheet metal.  Kind of wondering if that's true, and now waffling because I wonder how much stress a sheet metal handle with two holes drilled in it could actually take...

Maybe just the photos, though.  Seems like it would be hard to make a Phillips head shape on a hollow handle.

Glad to hear it.  Still wonder why they felt the need to drill the return holes all the way through the handle, but at least it isn't sheet metal :)
