The edc versions are still a ways away, still working on making the pliers perfect before going any further. I would say maybe an edc version sometime next year but I really can't say. I do a lot of testing for the guy who runs multitasker and were just trying to work out the little kinks here and there. Be patient, good things come to those who wait. :-)

I have done testing on the new plier heads with the revised wire cutters and the new ball bearing system in the plier head. I can show you guys some pics if your interested. Shane and I are still hammering out the details for the EDC model but things are moving along nicely, I'm sure you guys will be impressed and surprised by what's in store.  :tu:

These are some stock photos from Shane, I have the real deal but don't feel like snapping shots of something I already have good pics of. These are of the new heads with the bearings in the plier pivot and the redesigned cutters. There are more head redesigns coming in the next 6 months before the release of the EDC version I'm sure. We are planning to fix the wire cutter issue so they work 100% perfect this next time and the release after that (when edc probably comes out) will have replaceable wire cutters. All in due time, it's not easy cause he is the first person to do wire edc billet pliers instead of cast steel. Did I mention they were made of D2 steel?  8) Here are some pictures.

Did you just say ball-bearing equipped, solid billet, D2 pliers with replaceable cutters? Holy. Crap. I can't even imagine what's in store for the rest of the tool.

Are there plans for the EDC version to have a toothy section in the middle, similar to Leatherman pliers?  Needlenose are all well and good, but I do use that middle section quite a bit on my Wave.

And are the ball bearings in the joint to keep the pliers smooth without getting loose over time?  I'm just trying to figure out what the upside is to the extra engineering and material costs.
Half-ass done wholeheartedly!

I'm in favor of the large-toothed middle section also. :salute: Given the way the Multitasker pliers are individually machined, I'm pretty sure this would be an easy add.

Just wanted to add that I'm really in favor of this as well.  The standard needle-nose design is the only thing that doesn't get me too excited about the multi-tasker edc version.

Bob, after reading your review I'm pumped about the EDC version.  That is one quality tool!  I better start saving my pennies.

I would be on the edc version of this like white on rice. I would even get this before the Leatherman Rebar.

Shane has hinted (on his FB profile) that he'll probably present the Emerson MT at SHOT; no news on the EDC though...

Aside from it being specifically for use on guns I am not crazy about the overall run of mill look of the Emerson. What I like about the Multitasker is the unique use of G10 and the fact that the plier heads have bearings and are made of d2 steel. Come on guys at Multitasker! Where's our EDC multi?
