With all the fun that goes on here on the fourth, especially the outdoor fun, I am sure lots of us are carrying a tool to get the job done. Today I was going to equip myself with the Zilla but shocked to find that it's so long it wouldn't clip to my pocket, someone was definatly sleeping at the wheel. So I gave another tool a chance and went with the Wave 2004 model, usually go with the charge but since the wave is feeling neglected I went with it, hope to give it a good run today.

David

Happy Fourth Dave, and to everyone else too!

I'll use a bottle opener today for sure to help you all celebrate.

That bbq tool should probably have some kind of ignition device on it as well.

I've been called a tool more than a few times, and I'll be handling the grill honors...does that count? ;D Otherwise if something needs some multi-tool TLC..I'll go to the Vic Spirit.

Probably my old Wave around the house in my pocket, if I go out, my Powerlock on my belt.

The tiny nose of the Wave is great for grabbing an errant BB or pellet out of the chamber :multi:

I think the only tool that's going to get a workout today is my stomach :)

Burgers, beans, and corn on the cob :)

Today was my Mother's birthday and having just begun her annual garden I bought her a Leatherman Hybrid tool. She loved it, I installed a fence for her dog using my Gerber Diesel to trim and tighten some zip ties while she pruned her trees.

After playing around with the tool (the Hybrid), I really like the concept and the execution. It's well made and works wonderfully, I hope Leatherman continues to branch (!) out with their concepts. I plan on getting one for myself in the future, if only for the superior clamshell opening abilities.

As things turned out, we didn't do anything special on the 4th.  However, I did some repair work on a cabinet with a Micra for the sole reason of being too lazy to fetch my tool kit, or even a larger multi-tool.  While I can't say the Micra was the best tool for the job, it was perfectly adequate and always with me, usually the next to last item in my pocket (always carry a handkerchief) as I strip down.  I was wearing only shorts at the time.

If I'm not carrying a Micra, chances are that home repairs are not on my mind.

I have to say that now that the 4th is over with, I really could have used one of Bob's BBQ multitools!

Now I have to figure out some projects to do to work off the extra pounds I gained yesterday :)

Go jogging with a SwissTool?  If you can make it around the block without calling an ambulance, you'll drop those pounds in no time!

American Independence day?

Hi Viper..yes it Independence Day. A little American history trivia..during the American Civil War,the city of Vicksburg,Mississippi fell to Union forces under Gen Grant on July 4,1863 after a 47 day siege.Vicksburg didn't celebrate the 4th of July again until 1945 at the end of WW 2.

Oops, somehow while I was gone camping I missed this thread....

Daughter #3 and I were fishing on July 4th, trying to catch trophy class Bluegills from the end of the dock at the campground. She battled several, landed a few. I had hook extraction duty, and was well armed with an original style Leatherman Wave.

None of her fish made the record book.  ;)  But we'll be back.
