Two interesting knives came in yesterday.
on: February 21, 2010, 07:00:56 PM
I got a nice pair that has some interest to me. One because it has the Canada Scouts logo on it, the other, is probably the most beautiful SAK I have ever laid eyes on. Apparently, they make a knife a year (stated on one of the papers inside the box) to help with endangered species. This one is about the plight of the Sea Otter. I did a quick Google and couldn’t find anything on this series. I know that if there are more out there, I will be hunting them down.

A little Leatherman information.

Never seen one like that,it is truly a beauty  great find.
Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time

I know of a Jaguar for sure as well as a couple more. Karl might be the one to ask since he seems to have a complete collection as anyone.

Actually it was a Snow Leopard. Got a couple of photos. I think the series was for some endangered animals. I have seen what looks like a Polar Bear too.

It seems I have another series to try and hunt for.

What a hobby!!!  :2tu:

Here is more info.

The above was in 4 languages. I photographed the English side.

I could not find any dates on either piece of paper. The other looked like a Wenger generic instruction sheet. Nothing unusual about that I guess.

Quoted from the text on the above photo, "Nature Series, a new edition which is to be brought out each year."

Any dates on your paperwork? Curious........

You would think they would have a date somewhere in the literature or packaging.  Nothing. That has me puzzled somewhat.

I am currently doing an exhaustive search of all the knife sellers listed on Wenger.ch website. Have come across a few interesting things but nothing on the Nature series yet. Was hoping to come across a shop with old stock for this item.

Maybe these are very limited runs then? I haven't seen one before or since listed anywhere. Love that Polar Bear knife.

Something else special but so far has been missed is these knives are based upon the VIP size tools. They are larger than the Esquire. Now the scales are a little smaller than the VIP but that is due to the overlap on the edge for plain cellidor scaled knives.
