Ordered a Swisstool X... can't wait!
on: February 24, 2010, 06:20:02 AM
Well, I just couldn't resist the temptation any longer... sold off two Leatherman Waves (newer style) and am anxiously awaiting the big brown truck of joy. So much good info and reviews here on MT about the Swisstool! Went with the "X" model for the scissors, and figured I didn't need a second blade. Once it arrives I'll try to get some photos up.

Come on UPS... hurry up... any day now... :D

Good choice, you're going to like it a lot. I still have my old STX

:) See how it measures up to other tools you use, and let us know your thoughts about it? :)
But is there a particular reason for your sale of your Waves?

I'm sure you'll like it, its what I carry daily along with a standard swisstool as back up in the purse. Built like a tank and near impossible to destroy.

Parted with the Waves to clear out my meager knife collection a bit. There was nothing wrong with them, it just seemed like time to try something different. Still have an original LM PST and a Micra that I won't be parting with. But... that Swisstool has been calling my name for a few years.

I'll definitely be sharing some pictures!

Got the Swisstool X yesterday. If I had to use one word to describe it, that would be: "WOW"! Now I understand what all the fuss is about. Love how all the tools lock, and they can be accessed from the outside. Smooth opening on all of them, and they ooze 110% quality. It's definitely a heavy MT, but not really as bad as I envisioned it. For some reason I thought there would be a boat anchor attached to my belt.  :)

I'll get some pics up in the next day or so...

Thanks guys! This was a gift the better half let me order for myself. Downside was I had to wait to open it. After I passed it around the room I wasn't sure I would ever get it back! Must be that shiny finish Vic puts on there...
