I only wish that the Fenix L0D came on at Low-Med-High rather than the Med-Low-High it works at. As folks say sometimes you just don't want a room full of light and having to cover the torch while you cycle to low is a bit of a pain.

I agree, but you'll see just as many folks argue for med-low-high.You need a Quark MiNi AA.
I have one 5 lumen light I reach for most of all. Its great for navigating a dark house at night to use the privy without disturbing anyone. It works great on setting a tripped breaker back on without having 100 lumens bounce back in your eyes blinding you. Also it is good for close up work without knocking your eyes out. It seems a lot of people like the high lumen lights & that is ok by me. IMHO the low lumen lights serve very well indeed in some situations.
I prefer my edc lights to have multiple settings because not all situations call for police spotlights. I've got a few low lumen lights for, as space cowboy said, navigating a dark house without blasting the sleepers with sunshine. Since there's not too much for the light to reflect off of outside, higher power lights are necessary.
