Nobody likes documentation
on: May 15, 2010, 06:57:56 PM
Just noticed this documentation issue with a Victorinox Champion 1.6783.

This is an instruction sheet provided with a Champion model 1.6783. Note that the picture is the earlier model, but the description is for the new model. Tool 25 (Chisel) is not in the picture, but the number was placed on the picture where it would appear, and is listed with a description. The Fine-screwdriver (21) is also the early model, not the updated finer screwdriver that is at least usually associated with this model.

Whoops  ::)

I should dig through my instruction leaflets.  I find them a nuisance to be honest and they all tend to migrate to a small wooden drawer which is getting quite full.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I'm not a collector , so my packaging and documents end up in the recycle bin , I would need a warehouse to keep the docs. for all the swag I've cycled thru over the years .

My first SAK I ever bought was this exact Champion model in late DEC 1986.

I have several of those, in fact.  I EDC one, too.

I do find maintaining them is hard because they don't fit in the boxes generally without getting all curled up or damaged.  One day I'd like to have a system where I can keep them associated with their knife but stored separately.

Anyone that has any old or interesting instruction sheets they don't want they can mail them to me for scanning and posting on the wiki.

Funny, I was just thinking about scanning and posting all of the instruction sheets I have.  I keep mine in the boxes with the knives they came with, and since most of the older instruction sheets are with collectible knives, they don't see any wear & tear in there, except the odd time I pull out a knife to show it to someone or drool on it.

I keep original boxes sometimes (be it Vic or MT manuf.) if they're small enough, sometimes I'll even neatly open and keep clampackaging, BUT there are plenty of times I won't keep the package depending on the size and importance.

Hi

It sends a positive signal if you sell or trade a SAK with Doc. and box :)

With the matchbox style boxes I put the paperwork under the insert tray.
