Congrats SG.  There are so many options for bits and sockets that will suit the Vic L wrench.  The hard part will be how to carry all those options  :D.

Thx Aloha!! Will those options work with the ratchet as well? Mine has that and an extender.

Here are some drivers I use.  I got the Vic L wrench in a plus kit with a Swisstool and love it.  You can add whatever 1/4in bits you desire since the holder only came with 6 yet there is space for 10.  I use the generic extender with the Vic wrench for additional reach.  I feel the L wrench is the way to go when using sockets.  The Red generic L wrench was cheap but I use it as well.  The paracord ratchet is ok, I forget where I got it.  It works when I need to turn longer screws and don't want to use my MT or have a dedicated driver.

The Vic and generic L wrench both hold LM bits BTW.  The PW2 works with the generic extender an holds it very tight.  I was surprised it held so well and the extender didn't slip thru.  Its not the most ergo tool when using it as a bit/socket driver but it will work when you have lots of space to work.

I got the Kobalt set for $10 on sale, the little ratchet works good and has 5/16 end which is nice.  The SnapOn 1/4 is awesome and works well especially with sockets.

Twiliter nice set up.  I've picked up pieces as I've been in situations where I said dang it I wish I had {{BLANK}} on me.  I've been on the look out for more SnapOn 1/4 drives/ratchets.

I know what you mean there, my rolling cabinet has a huge accumulation of stuff like that, I like having the tools I need. My little tool bag is more about portability and doing more with less, so it's pretty bare bones.  :)

@ Twiiliter I hear you on that.  I try to keep my truck tool kit small and effective as well but  it does tend to grow beyond small at times.  On person kit is usually LM bit kit with appropriate MT and extender.

My truck box is obscene, Hi lift and 20 ton hydraulic jacks, small sledge, 50' logging chain, army shovel, small broom, portable bow saw, 18" Crescent, 24" alum. pipe wrench, 24" bolt cutters, portable air station, tire plug kit, electrical kit, a toolbox with a fairly complete set of hand tools, hitches, straps, a tarp, etc... Unless I have a project where I need more dedicated power tools or something.

So my grab and go kit is more portable which lets me carry light on my person, usually a SAK or Spirit by itself (most times), or the odd combo...

Been carrying the Surge for a few weeks, that thing's a beast!  :)

Ah, I always forget that I have a Swisstool as my "backup" in a side pocket in my bag every day.

Of course, there's nothing my LM can't do, so it never sees any use!

My Swisstool Spirit with the extra bits.

Nice. Seems sheath has changed, mine tool is front, bitset back and sides round slots (maybe cork screw and bit extender from ratchet set).

Yes there are tons of bits. So I have picked ten and carry bigger set when needed.

I don't know which model of the sheath comes first. The seller told me this is an old stock Spirit.

Have a small 6.00 set and a small security bit set in my Amazon cart waiting for my next order. They are "add on items".  We will probably need something next week and they will ship with it, Until then I have the ones in the big set an a couple of spare 1/4" hut drivers.

Here's an interesting one (no affiliation!), a little pricey for used, but looks like good condition.  :salute:

Looking good there mate  :tu:.

I do it the other way around, I have a regular Pioneer and a Swisstool X.  But most of the time I carry my Swisstool X in combination with my Swisschamp, or my Leatherman Expanse E33T.  The Swisstool is one beautiful tool isn't it, the way it opens and closes, it's a piece of art, and at the same time a very capable tool.

Enjoy it mate  :salute:.

I just got my Pioneer X a few weeks now and I can no longer miss him already.
When I need something more I take the Swisstool from the backpack. I think that the OHT can stay at home for a while.
The Swisstool is indeed a very nice tool (the sounds when it closes, yeah)

I did some research about my new Swisstool and find out that this is a 1998 model.
I bought it this week new in a hardware-store. Now I understand why they could not find the box, It was already 20 years in the showroom
