It's great to see that Victorinox cares about their customers! Well, after all if it's their fault, they should repair/replace it!
Glad you've got that off your back  :tu:

By the way - very nice SAK indeed. Wouldn't mind owning one myself  :D

Thanks all! Indeed I was hoping for a replacement but this exceeded my expectations. It was so fast.

This is how the awl was slipping inside on the previous one. It wasn't at the max position in these pics but they show what would happen if the blade was closed then:

Is it just me, or does it look like the replaced one had "luft" (did not fit well) on the upper scale from the last picture?

That's right although this pic does not show the extent. The scales were poorly fitted on the replaced SAK all around. The exterior liners weren't perfactly flat and there were various amounts of space between them and the scales.

It looks that SAK was a bad one from all regards. So now I think that I was luckly after all that the awl broke on that one.

Maybe the poor fella got somehow through QA in Ibach?
Small collection of SAK's, (but growing rapidly. :D) not so fast at this time. :( And the most important of all: Ze Zuper Zoldier by Steve!  :ahhh

Congratulations for the perfect replacement. :tu:
The Victorinox for one more time showed their respect for their customers.
I strongly believe that if you had send it before the awl incident, they will had replaced it only for the wrong fit of the scales.
