Road Spirits?
on: April 03, 2010, 02:42:47 AM
Ok, so aside from the cap crimpers in the head and the road logo on one arm and the main blade, what else is new with them?   Plus, aren't pages 15 and 16 duplicates, or am I blind? o.O

Road Spirits

The biggest new thing would be hopefully easy availability of a BO Spirit X.

However; unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I don't care anymore because the BO Spirit S has turned out to just be so perfect as a combo with a scissored SAK.

Overall pretty boring... BUT the Spirit is SO awesome, they should not mess with it too much.  If they want to mess around, it's time for a Mini-Spirit.

I don't see much point in the crimping die . A bit of texture on the handles would always be welcome . BO is always nice incase of Ninja attacks .

Oh man if it's April fools I'm gonna kick Grant. I'm undecided about the crimper, could be useful, but it's in an odd spot and I didn't like having it there in my ALX. As far as the blade and handle engraving, hard to say if it looks good based on those "scans" but I think it would be pretty cool. I do like that it's built on the "X" model though.

No joke- I actually had it ready to go last month but with some problems on SOSAKOnline thanks to the move, I was unable to post it.

I haven't seen them in the flesh yet, but as I understand it, the printing on the handle is not just printed on, it's 3 dimensional and textured to help improve grip.

Yeah I was worried about it being printed on. Considering how easy it was to remove the printing on my Swisstool. Is the tread pattern on both sides do you know? And what exactly is printed on the blade? It looks like "Your companion for life on the road" but it's hard to make out.

However; unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I don't care anymore because the BO Spirit S has turned out to just be so perfect as a combo with a scissored SAK.

I have to agree, on it's own I would LOVE to have the "X", but I've gotten so used to pairing my "S" with a CT34, it'd be really hard to go back. Such a perfect combination.

Four of each actually, and they all say "Definitely not for distribution to members, nyah nyah"

Seriously, Victorinox isn't really making a big stink about these, so much so that they really only mentioned them in passing at SHOT.

I'd have considered it if you'd used the magic word.... but now no one gets them and it's all your fault.   :pok:

Seriously, Tim and I have been working on how to make certain models not available for regular sale available to SOSAK and Multitool.org members.  No details yet, but that's the plan...

a few places are selling them in germany, and also switzerland. http://shop.ebay.de/?_from=R40&_trksid=m570&_nkw=SwissTool+Spirit+RT
importing them probably costs more than its worth though.
