on: April 15, 2010, 09:35:13 PM
Well thanks to this volcano eruption I am currently stuck in Manchester

With any luck I'll be on my way back across the Irish sea tomorrow either by plane or boat  :tu: If not I could be here the weekend  :o >:(

I've been here since Monday and have several packages at home waiting for me ; I want to go home  :surrender:

Best of luck on the great escape Dan :tu:

On the plus side its been really quiet today, we normally get a lot of air traffic round us.

Perhaps Dunc can pop round the coast in his boat and give you a lift :P

I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Apparently, the last time that volcano erupted - it spewed out ash for two years :)

That was 100 years ago or something.
I used to come here a lot.

So I should start a new life in Manchester?  :ahhh  :ahhh :o

It's not looking good for getting home tomorrow though  :-\  Even if the airports are reopened there will be loads of people trying to do the same thing as me  :(

The Irish sea isn't looking too bad right now.  I'd hop on a catamaran rather than fight for a plane seat  :-\

Hi all,

After four hours of driving I am sitting on the ferry home   :ahhh :tu:

All flights are still out, there was the 'possibility' of flights to Ireland later tonight but I didn't fancy taking that chance. I got booked on the Cairnryan to Larne ferry for a mere £29 :tu: jumped in the hire car and headed North; I don't mind driving so it didn't bother me.

Should be home for 18:30 :ahhh :D

Here's somebody who made a few quid from this :D

Quote
A taxi driver was asked on Thursday by a group of businessmen to drive them to London from Belfast.
The 400-mile trip cost the businessmen £650 but they generously left him a £50 tip.
