Anti Skid stuff
on: August 04, 2007, 07:28:36 PM
Maybe you guys can help me find something.  I am looking for an adhesive backed, waterproof anti skid material.  I am refurbing my kayak as I play with it, and I was thinking of putting some kind of surface down on the bow deck (and maybe the stern deck as well) to help protect a finish once it's applied.  This covering will only be in the areas directly beneath the bungee cords and tie downs, so equipment I have strapped to the exterior of the boat won't mark it up.

I was thinking about something like skateboard grip tape, but I was hoping to find something a little less aggressive, and possibly a little softer- something similar to neoprene, but somewhat sturdier.  It's got to be water and weather resistant, inexpensive, and fairly easy to work with.

Any suggestions?
