Charge Replacement Sheath
on: April 23, 2010, 06:36:23 PM
I did a search to try to answer this and didn't find what I was looking for, so maybe someone can help me.   ???

The Velcro on my fabric Charge sheath is shot.  I won't go into that because I know it has been covered.  I do want a replacement that has additional pockets like the original does only without the Velcro closure.  My current sheath has a pocket in the rear (belt side) where extra bits are stored.  There are also pen type loops on each side.  I have fire striker stored in one of them.

Does the factory leather sheath with snap have these pockets?  The web site says it has three but there are no interior pictures. I'd also be interested in replacement sheaths that would fit the bill.

Thanks,

Jess

Looks like a great fix, did a great job, too.

I'll hold that option open but for $8 plus shipping a new one is easier than my trying to sew.  I'm really interested in knowing if the pockets on the leather are similar to the ones I have.

Not even a welcome back or I've missed you?   ::)

Thanks for asking.  I have checked in some, but I've not posted here or SOSAK for a while.  Life gets on top sometimes.  :ahhh

I've got a leather sheath with snap coming as a replacement.  I'll try to post some interior pics when I get my hands on it.

the leather sheath has the same pockets and a snap button, but my particular snap button is very weak and doesnt take much to knock open

Maybe you could tighten it a bit with a needle nose plier?

You can buy kits with replacement snaps and put a snap on your nylon sheath as well  I did that recently with the sheath that I use for my ST300 when the Velcro wore out on it :tu: All you have to do is take an awl punch a hole big enough an put the snap closures in the right spot and it make for a great fix :)
