How do you know what SAK you have?
on: May 26, 2010, 08:22:52 PM
Hello everyone.  I was sent as a gift this SAK.  I have never owned one so I have no idea what it is.  The case is translucent which is really neat to me.  What info do I need to give you to help figure out what it is?  :)

You think it is a huntsman?  It looks like my new knife has the same tools but the pics I see online have a solid outer case whereas you can see the tools inside my SAK.  :)  It is not like it matters, just nice to know so when I talk about the knife I do not sound like a total n00b.  :)

That's where the Handyman comes in ... er... well.. handy :D

Either a special edition or someone changed the scales.

According to SAKwiki, the Huntsman can come with various scales including "Ruby" (translucent red).

I think farmerjohn gets the win on this one.

I also guessed Huntsmen (a great SAK), the Hunstmen is one of Vics main models and as such you can find one in most of the scale colors.

The Huntsman and it's Cousin the Fieldmaster are a couple of the finest SAK's out there ! I always sport an Eco. Huntsman on the key clip of my tool pouch . Dude , you are off to a great start ! Most Huntsmen don't come with the mini driver that nests in the corkscrew , grab one if you have a chance , great for eyeglass repairs , helps in our aging population .
