Here some pictures of another rusty lump I brought  ;)

Of course the cynical among you might think I wrapped the handle because it had split and I could not be bothered to start again  :twak:

If you look very carefully I think I can see a split in the handle. ;)

Nice job on the restoration Tony.

Bit grubby and dull as you like but never sharpened so won't take long to bring back to good user status.

Here's a tip.  If you are fitting translucent scales to an old SAK, spend a few minutes polishing up the bushings and out facing liners :tu:

Not really a flea market or anything, but a local photo shop had a basket of "old things" out for 10NOK ($1.5) per "item". Picked up some weird things, including a 0.8x wide angle lense add-on that had a MSRP of $350 when released, and some otther stuff. Ordered an adapter so I can try the wide angle thingy on my DSLR

Last carboot of the year for the one I normally go to (its on grass)
It looked like people thought lets tidy the house and before taking it all to the tip
lets try to sell it to Sparky  :o

But I found a few folders and SAKs

BAK dated 1953 with a very chipped blade :-\
BAK dated 1943 good condition for year but might be missing tin opener?  :-\
A nice folder that need a good clean (A. W.... & SON SHEFFIELD ) :tu:
A Taylor Eye Witness the main blade has been butchered
A cheap folder that needs a good clean as I can't even open the blades

Good haul Tony.  Have you worked out the name on the BAK yet?  I'll make a wild guess on the end one being Richards :D

I failed to find any MTs/knives this morning but I did get myself a new amp to go with the speakers I picked up a couple of weeks ago :)

<ad>

Anyone jealous of Tony's BAK and fancying cleaning up and old 1943 Watts version should look here ;)   Starting at one pound (no reserve) and ending in seven days.

BAK dated 1953 is made by WARRISS  :tu:

The pruning knife has a weak spring and no snap
but its is looking a bit better with a nice sharp blade

The Taylor knife is looking a lot better now but I still need to
work on the blades
