Check the price on the rolypolys first ::)

If you buy a Maxpedition, you must get a rolypoly for an add on ;)

I have been considering the purchase of a Remora or Lunada.

The new Noatak looks good.  However, unlike the Remora and Lunada gearslingers, the Noatak appears to be designed to be carried only on the right side.  Too, the Noatak has a Y-strap and the Y-strap on my Maxpedition gear always gets in the way.  I think the Y-strap's function is to relieve the stress on the zippers.  Guess the Y-strap could be easily cut off if you don't plan to load down the pack.

Good spot! It's useful to be able to switch the strap on the Lunada :)

I can't picture how big the Noatak is in relation to the Lunada - is it smaller or bigger?

For me, it depends 100% on the weight you're carrying, rather than the size of the bag. I used the Lunada on that bike ride last week with a waterproof, SIGG bottle, phone, wallet (which didn't weigh much after buying the helmets) and some other bits and bobs and it was fine, thanks to the smaller webbed strap that stops it sliding about.

Much more weight and I agree that two straps is better :)

I used to come here a lot.

(Image removed from quote.)

That is superb that. I went for a much more tame colour scheme myself, but boy did I deliberate for a while about the Bumblebee and the Red. I settled on Blue / Foliage in the end and am happy with it.

I want them all really  :ahhh

I decided to get the yellow Falcon II and yellow Jumbo Versipack, due to the fact I'm getting a little old for escape and evade.  Besides, if my diabetes gets the better of me out in the woods, SAR can find my remains pretty quickly!
