Playing with Kydex .
on: June 08, 2010, 06:04:15 PM
A client gave me one of the little 12V Li Milwaukee Driver/Drills that are cropping up everywhere . I have mixed feelings about these little guys , they are handy , but I have had to retap a lot of holes where some nitwit has stripped out a thread .

Kuny makes a well made little nylon pouch for about eight bucks , it isn't quick detachable , and needs a retaining strap . Leather would not be the best material for this application .

I wanted quick detachability , good retention , versatility ( the ability to wear on either hip , on a splice bucket , or other attachment point) . I wanted attachement points for screw pouches and bit holders , that would work whichever hip I carry it on .

Yep , I did the pouch , it's a screw /bit pouch with 5 nylon loops for 1/4 hex bits under the flap . It's about 15 years old .

BTW , I'll get that drawing up for you in the next couple of days . Things arte pretty hectic of late , and not in a good way .
