Recommend a hands free car kit?
on: May 19, 2010, 06:34:25 PM
I tend to speak most on the phone either driving to or from work and so have decided to get something decent rather than just using the loudspeaker in my phone.

I am after a bluetooth kit that mounts to the car, either visor or elsewhere, not one of these earpiece things (have 2 of those and don't get on with them).  Anyone have any recommendations for one that isn't silly money?  Seems the price range on these things are huge!  :o

Anyone have any experiences with Jabra? This one looks good and is available at a decent price http://uswww03.gnnetcom.com/jabra/SP700/index.html Is compatible with my O2 Zest as well.

I just picked up a Blue ant S3 for my GF.  Will report back in say a week after we set it up.

I have got the Parrot CK3100 in my car. TBH my own experience hasn't been great but I may have got a dodgy one  :-\

However, many many people swear by them  :tu:

I have had a proper Nokia bluetooth earpiece before; what a load of rubbish  ::)

Sorry, I forgot to report back. THe blue ant S3 is nice.  Voice menu so it's easy to learn.  The only annoying thing is that you have to hold the button for a few seconds to turn it off.  Don't hold it for a few seconds to turn it on or you will restart the setup/reconfiguring of the device.

You can just leave it and use auto connect, but you may accidentaly connect when you are standing outside your car (or even 10 feet away?!).

It's loud and seems to sound quite nice.  My GF loves it.
She hates earpieces so this is a nice, compact option.
