I agree. I have had someone make a snyde remark about me having a blackberry on my belt. This guy was a trade worker so I was quite pleased to whip out a charge and ask what he carries.

That is so freakin' awesome!

Also, didn't know that the SwissTool was all outside-accessible! Gonna have to snoop around the Vic forum a bit, eh?

If one hand deployment is what you are looking for with outside deployment...I would suggest the following in no given order.

1. Buck X-Tract (I would suggest the X-Tract Fin for the added scissors over the can opener, but they all work wonderfully one handed)
2. SOG PowerAssist for its two assisted opening knife blades which make OHO very easy for the blades.
3. Gerber has a whole line of sliding pliers based MTs that are perfect for OHO of the pliers. Take a look at the Gerber Flik and Freehand for those outside opening tools. Mind you, some of the tools are a bit small on the Flik, but still useable.
4. Leatherman Wave, Surge, Charge, Skeletool/Freestyle, and the Juice series.
5. Victorinox Swiss Tool and Spirit. Both feature outside opening tools.

Frankly, do take a look at the Buck X-Tract. That is a tool that is all one hand accessible. The knife is huge, the pliers are not that small.  You get two drivers, a flat and a Phillips, and with the fin, you get a pair of very useful scissors along with a separate diamond file plate for hooks or what not.

A little Leatherman information.

OK, I think I've decided on the SwissTool Spirit X, because it has everything I need, I know and love my SAK, the Lifetime warranty (the warranty center is here is CT!), and mainly because Cat Man Tom is selling it to me and any money that can go to a good cause is better than money going to an evil corporation!
