Help me choose a new SAK,
on: June 16, 2010, 10:03:21 AM
Ok ive tried a few SAK's and generally trade or sell them but now have decided that i really need one, i had a climber for a few years and found it very handy, and recently had a ranger and liked that a lot but had to sell it due to needing some funds, i regret that one, i like both these as i want a SAK that has most things a pliers based MT has without the pliers, so as this will be my main EDC what do you guys think i think the ranger is better for me over the climber and i only will have around £25 to spend, i like the explorer as well and the large champion plus, so what do you think

thanks

paul

Do you need a Corkscrew ? I often EDC a Climber and its my favourite 91mm . If you don't want a Corkscrew how about a super tinker

Theres so many choices . Have a word with Neil and see what he's got for sale .

nope never use it dunc fare point  :tu: i use a phillips/flat/driver , and file is handy as is a saw, 1 large blade, and scissors even though i have them on my keys in one form or other i would still like them, i have to say im going towards the ranger again, i wont to go back to carrying a SAk as i liked the 91mm size models as snug in my pocket, i always carry a large MT in my bag, or the wave and bit kit, but as its the summer i done wont to carry a bag all the time,  :tu:

The Explorer is a good choice. I really like the inline phillips driver. I pair mine up with a LM Squirt P4.

OK I know you've got something in the pipeline but the SAK that came to mind, and almost never seems to get a mention, is the Mountaineer.

Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

a explora, of the alpha type  :D  i couldnt refuse as have a rather looka liky fake roloex explora here that i was brought as a gift but it lasted 1 day and the crappy auto movement stopped, i tried to sort it but its not worth fixing, so when i was offered a mint alpha explora i had to go for it, i probably should get a Vic explorer to go with it  ;)

I've always wondered...what are people filing up on top of mountains?  Since I've never been able to answer that question, I lean towards the Huntsman.

Half-ass done wholeheartedly!
