I have a couple of these EOD Breacher Bars from Country Comm

My neighbor owns a welding / fabrication shop ,

I'm going to have him grind an edge on them and I'll wrap them with paracord.

Why do I carry a 45 ?
Because they don't make a 46 !

Isn't the hardness too low for a knife? Only mid 40 if I recall.

Tools

John, I brought a (cheap 15quid) grinder form B&Q took off the metal bits, wheels and replaced them with mops,
To be honest its underpowered at 150W and gets quite hot during use but it works ok for me  :tu:

This stationary belt sander has a powerful 1/3-HP motor that moves at up to 3400 RPM for fast stock removal from your workpiece. Or fit it with a fine-grit belt (extra belts sold separately) for a smoother finish. A belt sander can also be used on non-ferrous metals; the sanding belt surface won't clog because it "opens up" as it goes around the drive wheel.

1" x 30" sanding belt, 80-grit
Table tilts 0° to 45°
Adjustable belt tracking
1-3/4" diameter dust-collection chute
Durable die cast and machined aluminum construction
Rubber feet minimize vibration
Motor: 1/3 HP, 120V, 3 amps, 60 Hz

Two nice tools there that I want now

Nuphoria
Mostly I use my cheap 'workmate' as my bench is covered with boxes of useful stuff,
To make a workmate even more useful get a good flat bit of board (I use old kitchen cabinet doors) and screw a bit of 2''x 2'' to the back, then mount this in the workmate this makes a nice square work surface,
I have different ones for different clean/dirty/oily jobs some have holes drilled for dedicated machinery
I will see if I can take a pic later  :tu:

For people with out space for a workbench a workmate could be the answer as it can be folded up and put away when you are finished with it,
To make a workmate even more useful get a good flat bit of board, old kitchen cupboard doors are great for this, they are normally flat, square and easy to clean, the best bit is you can find them for free in skips and dumpsters
When you have a suitable board screw a bit of batten or 2'' x 2'' to the back you can then clamp it up in the workmates jaws

one of my vices ;)

Hope that is help full to someone, I think this adds a lot to the usefulness of a workmate  :tu:

+1- have my original steel frame Workmate I purchased in 1975, it's sturdy and it's easy to store when not in use.

I also use a "top" on mine - mainly for working outside in the drive way on "messy"  projects such as grinding, sanding , spray painting, etc.

Eod
Sorry to send your thread off on a tangent  ::)

I have picked up lots of ideas over the years from blokes on building sites
As you can see mine was a very cheap one that I've had for probably more than 10 years, I think they are under rated by a lot of people  :tu:

I have a 3' X 6' table that is my portable bench from when i layed hardwood floors. My table saw and miter saw fit nicely on it at the same and you still have set stuff down.
I think Alcohol, Tabacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.
