Anyone know when 84mm Vics...

... got thinner, non-stepped tangs on the main blade? Victorinox documentation is pretty clear about when this happened with the 91mm knives (2005-2006). But I can't find any info about the 84mm knives. By all appearances it happened sometime in the 1990s, but I'll be damned if I can narrow it down any better than that.

I always assumed it happened in the same time frame as the 91mm   I've no way of verifying that though

I remember this coming up a while back; general consensus agreed that it was in the 90s or so (don't shoot me if I'm incorrect), whereas the 91mm line came much later in 05-06ish.

Data point - just got a 84mm Apprentice NIB in the mail today. Thin tang, older SAB box, 1994 Copyright on the insert. So that helps to date it somewhat - early to mid 90s.
