I just received the parcel with "Apollo 11" 20th Anniversary Astronaut Victorinox knife and very delighted with the beauty of the knife!

The knife was released in 1989 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. The main blade has an image of the Command Module docked with the Moon Lander and the dates of the event. The knife itself is a pre 1991 "Craftsman" model without the Hook and has serial number located into the liner behind the Phillips screwdriver. The knife arrived with a special Victorinox black gift box set.

Sweet! The box is a Cutlery World product made specially for this commemorative knife. Cutlery World was a major "Mall" store retailer for years. I am not even sure they are still in business with that name anymore. Are there any graphics on the outside of the box top or bottom?

Nothing on the box, only the picture inside the lead.

Very nice - I recently got that exact same knife/box. Congrats on being able to take a decent picture of the box - it's not easy (black box with silver printing photographs poorly IME).

Did you get the fancy Cutlery World certificate as well?

That's a nice knife!

As a kid and teenager I was crazy about astronauts and spaceships, and I still would love to go to the ISS if I could afford it  :ahhh

No, it came only with a box. Do you have a picture of the Cutlery World certificate?

Imagine yourself:

You are in Apollo 11, you wait for landing and sit there with that knife and for a long time, you play with it:
 :climber:

Can-opener - oh, no cans on the board...   :tool: :(
Bottle-opener - sh...., no beer on the board...    :drink: :(
Metal-file - Oh,we were lucky enough that the moon-modul parted automaticaly from the space-ship and we didn´t have the need to use it.  :D
Scissors - well, I don´t need them, I am that much nervous, that I bite my nails by myself...

You land on the moon, prepared with a SAK, with a Wood-Saw and...

Oh sh...., there are no trees on the moon!!!
(Could be that Martians saw them all down a long thousand years ago...)

Don't you know that every Astronaut today carries a SAK?  :pok:

Does anyone know WHAT SAK they carry?
