Look what I got from Ireland.

A nice selection of Ireland specific Victorinox Spartans that came from a seller in Ireland via eBay.

The seller was even nice enough to throw in two Victorinox pins as an extra.

A little Leatherman information.

I have seen all those except the shamrock one  :D

It looks the best too  :tu: Can you say where you got it via PM or here please? Petersons is the main distributor but they don't seem to stock it  :-\

BTW the clovers are called shamrocks over here. The Irish word for clover is seamróg which later became shamrock :D

A very Irish symbol used by St. Patrick himself in the 4th century to explain the Holy Trinity and Christianity to the locals.

That concludes today's lesson on Irish symbology  :D

Thanks Chako

Found it; looks like I'll save up my pennies for that beauty  :D

Just checked on the Peterson website; the Shamrock Spartan is listed there too as well as a Shamrock Classic  :tu:

I must say I really do like those Shamrock models but the Swiss or Austrian souvenir knives have prettier scenes on the scales. Those Irish scenes seem kind of dull. Still nice knives.

Obviously Victorinox chose lousy pictures  :twak:

One is of a random lake  One is of the Molly Malone statue; a fictional woman in a song  One is of the Ha'penny Bridge in Dublin  and lastly one is of a random thatched cottage

Ok I think I agree; the scenes chosen are dull; no reflection on Ireland though  :salute:

Their problem was they didn't include the North  :D

Yes, I should have made it clear I think Ireland itself is a beautiful country but the images they used on these souvenir knives are a tad dull.

Has anyone got a cheap source for the Shamrock Classic?  I need to get one for my father-in-law.  Better still, anyone got one they want to trade?

I hate to be pedantic (that might be a lie ) but if it's supposed to be Irish shouldn't they have three leaves, not four? (As cerbera already alluded too)  Anyways, they're still very nice, but the Vic one in the OP wins for me.

True, well spotted Gareth  :tu:

Victorinox did their homework

Isn't the four leafed clover the lucky one?

I'm guessing it a mix together of "luck of the Irish" and "lucky four leaved clover" that often often gets people thinking that shamrock's should be four leaved.  Just a guess though.
